I'm Back

I hope I haven't forgotten how to do this, it seems like it's been forever since I've blogged. A lot has been going on around here lately, we got ourselves moved in to our new house, at least most of the way, there is still a lot of organizing to be done. I love living in a house, It may be silly, but I am so happy to have a washer and dryer and a dishwasher. I cant believe I went 3 years without.
We lost Max a few days ago. He'd been in the garage and got all dirty so he had to stay there until we could give him a bath. It was only for one night, but when David opened the garage to go to work the next morning Max ran out and we couldn't find him anywhere. I searched all over the neighborhood and kept calling for him. We left to go to town and I hoped he'd turn up, but there was still no sign of him when we got home. I decided to check the garage so I started calling to him and I kept thinking I heard this tiny noise, but it was so faint I couldn't tell if it was Reece inside crying. Finally I moved a few boxes around and there he was hiding, he'd been there all along. I was really relieved, I hadn't realized how much Max is a part of our family until he was lost.
My babies are both sick. I think Sierra is just getting a cold, she's a bit snotty and has started coughing a bit, but other than that she's happy. Reece on the other hand has Croup, a double ear infection, and is constipated, he's backed up basically to his throat(over-exageration).
Sorry no pics this time, hopefully I'll be able to blog more frequently now so I'll be able to get some pics up soon.

We're in

We are moving into a house. I am so excited. We found out today that our credit check came back and we were approved to move in. I can't wait to have my own washer and dryer. I love the yard too, we'll finally be able to have people over. My blogs might be a bit sparse for a while since I'l be busy packing, but hopefully it wont take us too long to get settled. We've moved 8 times since we've been married so I think we're professionals by now.

Modelesque

Sierra looked so cute last Sunday. I wanted to take some pictures of her, but she was carrying around one of those stretchy rubber bands, the kind used for exercising. I didn't want it in the picture so I told her to set it down on the couch, well she set it down, but wouldn't let go of it. I took the pictures of her anyway and they actually turned out really cute. She looks like she's posing.

Carving Creations

We had so much fun doing pumpkins this year. We put Reece to bed so he didn't get to help, but he's a little young. Sierra had a blast, she was all over getting the guts out of the pumpkin. I let her decorate her pumpkin all by herself too (OK, I helped a little). We got sooo many pumpkin seed this year, which I love, I've been snacking on them every day. Here are some pics of our finished products.

She was so proud of her pumpkin, she wanted to cary it around with her all night, but it was too heavy.
I carved the ghost, Dave's is the alien, Sierra's own creation, and I did the baby one too ( you can't see it in the picture, but it has a binky in it's mouth).

Pics

So I guess I do have a little bit of time tonight to post some picture of our Halloween experience. The kids looked absolutely adorable in their costumes. Sierra was a ladybug and Reece was a skunk. I love Old Navy costumes, the kids were so warm and so cute. We had a lot of fun trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, we even let Sierra go up to some houses on her own while we stayed on the sidewalk. She thought that was pretty cool. Then we went to the Trunk-or-treat at the church, that doesn't last long, at least this year they told everyone to go around clockwise so we weren't in complete chaos.

Our little stinker.

long time no see

It has been forever since I've been able to post anything. Our computer is totally freaking out. The graphics keep going all screwy, it'll show everything like 5 times overlapping. I'm totally freaking out too because all of my pictures are on this computer and I dont have anything to back them up so if it goes down we'll have lost everything from the time Reece was 2 months old. I think we're going to get some discs so we can save our pics to them, then I wont have to be so worried. I dont have much time right now to post pictures or anything, but I'll do it hopefully in a few days. We had a great Halloween, got loads of candy and the kids looked sooooo cute(pics to come). We might be getting into a house too, we put the application in today so we should know in a few days, I'll keep you posted.

A special Message

Our nephew Hunter turns 4 today. We miss him and the rest of his family since they moved to Massachusetts over a year ago. Sierra let me record a special message for Hunter, unfortunately he'll probably be in bed by now, I had to wait for my camera batteries to charge so I couldn't get this up any earlier, but I'm sure he'll appreciate it just as much even if it's late. I did about 5 videos of Sissy, they were all pretty cute, but I like the intensity of this one...

Maximus

I headed down the hallway last week and found Max asleep. He looked so funny I had to take a picture.

Update

I keep looking at the clock and it's not even 8:00. How can I be so tired. I hate that I have shows that I'm addicted to every night of the week. I don't get to go to bed until 10 and then I'm up at 5:30, besides the fact that I'm up with Sierra at 3 or 4. She seems to think that when she wakes up to go potty in the middle of the night that it's time to be up for the day, it's making me CRAZY! We've been really busy around here lately. We're trying to get into a house, to rent and possibly buy eventually. We've had a few things come up that we thought would be perfect, but they haven't worked out. I've been trying not to get my hopes up until we have something final because the first house was a huge disappointment and I don't want to go through that again.
Sierra has been loving her gymnastics class. She gets excited every time I tell her we're going. I see improvements at every class. She can already do a skin the cat all by herself. that's where you hang on the bars and flip your body through the hole your arms make with the bar. I'll try to get a video of her doing it tomorrow.
Other than that nothing big is going on around here, other than that we've started hanging out with some old friends that we haven't seen in almost 2 years. They have a little boy and Sierra loves to play with him. It's nice for her to have a playmate, plus they entertain each other so well that we get a little break.

Teefers

I think Reece is finally going to get some teeth. I wasn't actually expecting it for a few months, since Sierra didn't have any teeth until she was 16 months, but I'm almost positive it wont be long. I try to check in his mouth, but he refuses to let me near his gums. He's started doing this thing with his tongue where he presses it against his lower gums over and over. It makes his tongue look really fat, it's pretty funny.

New Toys

Reece was fascinated by an empty Dr. Pepper box today. He kept crawling into the kitchen to play with it. Every time I would move him back to the livingroom, he would turn around and immediately head back to "his" box. It was so cute to watch him play because he would jabber happily and yell as loud as he could as he shook the box around. I guess I know what to get Reece for Christmas this year. Haha

Gym Video

I finally remembered to get a video of Sierra at gymnastics. She is loving her class, she's even made a friend. She sits by this little girl and they talk and play, it's so sweet. I freaked out when I was taking this video, you'll see why.

I'll have to get over my fears of her falling, but that could've been a bad one. Atleast rings isn't a womans event.

Kicky

David and Reece were playing the cutest game the other day, I had to get a video of it. The hardest part was getting Sierra to be quiet, she was frustrated because she wasn't getting any attention at that moment. I managed to get about 30 seconds of the boys playing together before Sierra got in the way.

Buh-buh

I sometimes wonder why we even named Reece. I never call him by his name and Sierra rarely does. In this house he goes by Buh-buh. I got some pictures of my Buh-buh at daycare a few day ago.

He always has one of these rings hanging out of his mouth.
Playing with mommy, we were sticking our tongues out at each other.
Darn cute!

Beliefs

As most people who read this know, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been dealing with an issue lately, I wont go into details, where I've had to stick up for what I believe is right. It was so hard. I was put in the middle of a difficult situation, where I had to make a very difficult decision. Whatever choice I made someone was going to be upset with me, which is hard for me because I don't do well with confrontation. And this involved some of my family which makes it even worse because my family is the most important thing in my life. I just want everyone to know that I know I did the right thing and I'm sorry that I was put in the position to have to make a decision that would affect so many people, possibly negatively. I love ALL of my family more than anything else and hope that this situation wont affect any of the relationships in my life.
I just needed to get that off my chest, I hope this isn't a downer post.

helping out a friend

My best friend Shannon is trying to win a quilt so she needs people to go onto this site and leave a comment that she referred them. It's really easy, only takes a minute. Leave her blog site on the comment section: www.texasbowers.blogspot.com
Hope this helps you out Shan.

Starting Early

I recently got a Nintendo DS, which is so much fun. I only have one game for it, but I play almost every day. One of the games is similar to tetris, which I love, and Sierra has figured out how to play it. She knows exactly how to get to the right screen and open up the game. She's not very good at the actual game play, but she likes to stack all of the pieces up to the top until she loses, then start over and do it again. She's definitely taking after her father, they sit on the couch playing video games together all of the time. I guess it's good bonding time for them, or it would be if they were actually playing "together".

Still Fits

I was going through some stuff in our closets the other day and ran across the costume Sierra wore for Halloween when she was one. I took it out to put it on Reece just to see how cute he would look, even though it's a pink lamb, but of course Sierra wanted in on the action so I tried it on her and IT FIT! It's been 2 years since she wore this costume, which my mother-in-law made, with some help from myself, and it still fit her almost perfectly. I can't remember it being really big on her when she wore it the first time, but it must've been.

Gym

Sierra started her first gymnastics class yesterday. She had so much fun. The teacher was really surprised at how strong she was for her size. She kept trying to give Sierra easier tasks than the bigger girls, but Sierra would start trying to do what the big girls did and completely shock the teacher. I think she's a natural. She really liked all of the things they did, but had trouble waiting in line after a while. The class lasted an hour so by the second half she was getting a little bit distracted by the older kids that were working out in other areas, but I think she'll get better about that. I forgot to take a video of her, but I got some cute pics. I promise to put up a video next week sometime.

Update

He is finally doing it. Reece can crawl with hands and knees. He doesn't do it all of the time, but he can do it and it is so cute. I got this video of him at daycare today. I am so excited for him to be crawling, I was getting worried that he wouldn't get control over his little body, but he's finally figured it out. I'm not excited for the extra attention I'll have to pay to him, but I love when my kids meet new milestones.

Turtle, Turtle

I was just looking through some old pictures on my computer and found one of Reece that I took a few weeks ago. I snagged this turtle costume from work because Sierra has a picture in it from when she was 1. I love the smile on Reece's face, he looks so proud of himself. For the record, this isn't Reece's official costume this year, to see pictures of that you'll have to wait until Hallowen.

On the Move

I was finally able to get some video of Reece crawling. Okay,so he doesn't technically crawl, he kind of inch worms across the floor with a somewhat sideways motion, but he's moving forward now instead of backwards. I can tell with him I'm going to have to keep a close eye out whenever he's on the floor, he's into EVERYTHING.

Partying

Today our nephew,Coby, had his 3rd birthday party. Unfortunately, David wasn't feeling well so he stayed home while I took the kids. It was a fun little party, Sierra really enjoyed herself. They had a lot of games planned, all in a Cars motif. They had pin the tire on the Lightning McQueen, potato sack races, 3 legged races, and a Lightning McQueen pinata. All in All the party turned out great, the only negative side was that Sierra missed her nap and has been EXTREMELY cranky since we got home. At this very moment she is in her room crying because she wants to "snuggle her daddy". I gave her the option about 10 minutes before bedtime to snuggle, but she chose not to and has now decided that she wants to. Hopefully she'll fall asleep in the next few minutes.

She needed a lot of guidance to pin on her tire.
She actually ran more than she hopped.
The bat was a little bit heavy for her, but she got a few good hits.
Reece had fun at the party too. He used this box of nerds from the pinata for a rattle
She couldn't figure out how to blow, at first, but she got the hang of it. I tried to get a picture of it blown out, but I couldn't time it right.

Thanks

We got a package in the mail a few days ago from my friend Shannon. I posted earlier about Reece finally taking a certain brand of sippy cup so she sent me some that she had. She also sent along with it the cutest Littlest Pet Shop I have ever seen. It is a little fairy kitty. Sierra fell in love with it right away, anyone who knows her will tell you Littlest Pet Shops are her favorite toys right now, not to mention I think they're adorable. I tried to get a picture of Sierra holding up her new toy, but she was so excited about it she wouldn't hold still, so you can't see the actual toy only how much she absolutely loves it. Thanks Shannon.

Twinkle,Twinkle

My friend Shannon recently started putting little videos of her kids on her blog so I wanted to give it a try. Sierra's favorite part about the whole thing was watching the video of herself afterwards. Ignore her hairdo, we had a lot of time that morning so I went a little crazy with the ponies.

ADORABLE

I got the cutest pictures of the kids this morning. They were on the couch watching Barney while I got everything ready to head out the door. They looked so sweet sitting next to each other I had to grab the camera. These pictures kind of tell a story: first they were sitting so nicely next to each other, than I asked Sierra to snuggle Reece, but he wasn't really interested in that, he started pulling away from her, than he decided , if she was bothering him, he might as well bother her too, so he started grabbing her face and her hair which only made her bust up even more. It melts my heart to see them interact with each other like little friends. Reece loves his big sister so much and Sierra is so protective of her baby brother.

This goofy picture was just the icing on the cake, they both look sooooo silly.

Training

I have been trying so hard lately to get Sierra potty trained. I can't believe I thought I would have her trained by 18 months, boy, was I kidding myself. As soon as she learned to walk I was putting her on the potty. I would sit there with her forever and praise her just for sitiing there, then eventually she would go, probably just because she needed to and she had sat there for so long, and I would get so excited. I tried giving her a small treat for a reward, but at 18 months after the treat was gone she would just stand at my legs and scream for more, she didn't understand that she was only getting a treat for peeing on the potty. Finally when it got close to Reece being born I gave up. I didn't want to work really hard to have her potty trained just for her to regress after the baby was born. Now it's over a year since I had Reece and we are finally making progress. She goes most of the day without any accidents, I think it has really helped having her in preschool. She sees the other kids going potty and wants to do what they do. I've even decided to keep her in panties at night, she's had one dry night and one accident so far. I decided with Reece I'm going to wait until he is really interested in potty training before I try anything. I'm definetly not going through 18 more months of potty training.

Winks

Sierra has some pull-ups that she wears for bed and they have Tweety Bird on them. They are pretty cute and she loves to wear them. One of the Tweety's on the front is winking and Sierra tries to imitate it all the time, it is really cute. I actually got her to let me take some pictures of her being like Tweety. She tries really hard to wink and it just makes her look really adorable

I got nothin

I dont really have anything great to write about still ,but I wanted to put up some of our older pics. I picked some of my favorite pictures of the kids, I love the one of Reece sleeping with his hands folded it is just so sweet. The close up of Sierra was my wallpaper for a really long time, I love her eyes, they look so bright.

She was always trying on our shoes and walking around the house.

I made that hat for him and he looked so cute in it.
