On the Move

I was finally able to get some video of Reece crawling. Okay,so he doesn't technically crawl, he kind of inch worms across the floor with a somewhat sideways motion, but he's moving forward now instead of backwards. I can tell with him I'm going to have to keep a close eye out whenever he's on the floor, he's into EVERYTHING.

Partying

Today our nephew,Coby, had his 3rd birthday party. Unfortunately, David wasn't feeling well so he stayed home while I took the kids. It was a fun little party, Sierra really enjoyed herself. They had a lot of games planned, all in a Cars motif. They had pin the tire on the Lightning McQueen, potato sack races, 3 legged races, and a Lightning McQueen pinata. All in All the party turned out great, the only negative side was that Sierra missed her nap and has been EXTREMELY cranky since we got home. At this very moment she is in her room crying because she wants to "snuggle her daddy". I gave her the option about 10 minutes before bedtime to snuggle, but she chose not to and has now decided that she wants to. Hopefully she'll fall asleep in the next few minutes.

She needed a lot of guidance to pin on her tire.
She actually ran more than she hopped.
The bat was a little bit heavy for her, but she got a few good hits.
Reece had fun at the party too. He used this box of nerds from the pinata for a rattle
She couldn't figure out how to blow, at first, but she got the hang of it. I tried to get a picture of it blown out, but I couldn't time it right.

Thanks

We got a package in the mail a few days ago from my friend Shannon. I posted earlier about Reece finally taking a certain brand of sippy cup so she sent me some that she had. She also sent along with it the cutest Littlest Pet Shop I have ever seen. It is a little fairy kitty. Sierra fell in love with it right away, anyone who knows her will tell you Littlest Pet Shops are her favorite toys right now, not to mention I think they're adorable. I tried to get a picture of Sierra holding up her new toy, but she was so excited about it she wouldn't hold still, so you can't see the actual toy only how much she absolutely loves it. Thanks Shannon.

Twinkle,Twinkle

My friend Shannon recently started putting little videos of her kids on her blog so I wanted to give it a try. Sierra's favorite part about the whole thing was watching the video of herself afterwards. Ignore her hairdo, we had a lot of time that morning so I went a little crazy with the ponies.

ADORABLE

I got the cutest pictures of the kids this morning. They were on the couch watching Barney while I got everything ready to head out the door. They looked so sweet sitting next to each other I had to grab the camera. These pictures kind of tell a story: first they were sitting so nicely next to each other, than I asked Sierra to snuggle Reece, but he wasn't really interested in that, he started pulling away from her, than he decided , if she was bothering him, he might as well bother her too, so he started grabbing her face and her hair which only made her bust up even more. It melts my heart to see them interact with each other like little friends. Reece loves his big sister so much and Sierra is so protective of her baby brother.

This goofy picture was just the icing on the cake, they both look sooooo silly.

Training

I have been trying so hard lately to get Sierra potty trained. I can't believe I thought I would have her trained by 18 months, boy, was I kidding myself. As soon as she learned to walk I was putting her on the potty. I would sit there with her forever and praise her just for sitiing there, then eventually she would go, probably just because she needed to and she had sat there for so long, and I would get so excited. I tried giving her a small treat for a reward, but at 18 months after the treat was gone she would just stand at my legs and scream for more, she didn't understand that she was only getting a treat for peeing on the potty. Finally when it got close to Reece being born I gave up. I didn't want to work really hard to have her potty trained just for her to regress after the baby was born. Now it's over a year since I had Reece and we are finally making progress. She goes most of the day without any accidents, I think it has really helped having her in preschool. She sees the other kids going potty and wants to do what they do. I've even decided to keep her in panties at night, she's had one dry night and one accident so far. I decided with Reece I'm going to wait until he is really interested in potty training before I try anything. I'm definetly not going through 18 more months of potty training.

Winks

Sierra has some pull-ups that she wears for bed and they have Tweety Bird on them. They are pretty cute and she loves to wear them. One of the Tweety's on the front is winking and Sierra tries to imitate it all the time, it is really cute. I actually got her to let me take some pictures of her being like Tweety. She tries really hard to wink and it just makes her look really adorable

I got nothin

I dont really have anything great to write about still ,but I wanted to put up some of our older pics. I picked some of my favorite pictures of the kids, I love the one of Reece sleeping with his hands folded it is just so sweet. The close up of Sierra was my wallpaper for a really long time, I love her eyes, they look so bright.

She was always trying on our shoes and walking around the house.

I made that hat for him and he looked so cute in it.

Date Night

I didn't realize I haven't posted anything since Wednesday. It's been a little busy around here. Last night David and I had a very needed date night, and it was great. We dropped the kids off at Dave's parents when I got off work and we went to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner. I don't think we've had any time alone since our anniversary in July so it was nice to get away from the kids for a bit. Dave decided to take me to Old Navy after dinner because I have no clothes. I have a really hard time buying clothes for myself, mainly because nothing I try on makes me feel like I look good and it's hard for me to buy bigger sizes. I just can't seem to get over the fact that before I had my sweet babies I was a size 6. It's so much easier for me to shop for the kids because all the clothes I buy for them are so cute and they always fit, but Dave wouldn't let me buy anything for the kids. We got out of Old Navy with a few things for myself and something for Dave too, nothing for the kiddos. After shopping we came home and relaxed watching a movie, Dave's parents kept the kids overnight so we got to sleep in this morning too. We definetly need to keep up with our date nights, they are a lot of fun.

twins?

I dont really have much to write about today, or much time because America's Next Top Model starts in 10 minutes, but I thought I'd post some old pictures of Sierra so everyone can see how much her an Reece look alike. I think these shots are of her at around a year old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Today is Reece's birthday. My little baby is one year old. I feel a little bit guilty because we didn't plan a party for him, when Sierra turned 1 we had a huge BBQ with at least 30 people, but we did a little family party party just Dave, Me and the kids. I made an attempt at a homemade cake which tasted really good, but didn't turn out as cute as I had envisioned in my mind, writing on a cake is REALLY hard. Reece was so cute eating his cake. At first he just touched the frosting with the tips of his fingers and sucked on them, but by the end he was beating the cake with both hands and squeazing it between his fingers. Once he was finished eating he had a lot of fun playing and he kept looking at his hands like, what the?, what's all over my hands?. It was really hard to get a picture of him looking at the camera. Finally I had to tickle him to get him to pay attention to me, he was so fascinated by his messy hands. All in All, I think his birthday party was a success, even if it was small.

Tiny Secrets

Sierra has recently started watching a movie called The Secret Of Nimh. I dont think I'd ever seen it until a few years ago, but David loves it. It reminds him of his childhood, kind of like me with Babes in Toyland. Sierra likes this movie quite a bit and watches it pretty frequently, but it is kind of scary. One day David found her hiding behind her bed during a particularly scary part and he turned the movie off so she wouldn't be scared. Sierra wasn't happy about this, apparently she really likes being scared. The other day she was watching it in the living room and as the scary parts came up she barricaded herself behind some pillows for protection, it was so cute. She would hunker down during the scary scenes and peak over the tops of the pillows so she could still watch, but would be protected. She would even get this worried look on her face which of course I couldn't capture on camera.

Icky's

I got a few pictures of the kids when they were sick last week. Sierra took over a 4 hr nap on Thursday and when I went to check on her I found her like this...

Reece was so pathetic in the swing at daycare before we came home Thursday morning I couldn't resist taking a picture of him.

Sweet boy

I've been getting some really cute pics of Reece lately. I took these at daycare the other day. He has recently started getting excited when he sees the camera, it is so funny. And if I take it out and don't take pictures of him he'll get upset. He's getting really close to crawling, he goes up to hands and knees, but can't go forward quite yet. He only moves backwards, but that's a start. I don't think it'll be much longer and he'll be all over the place.

He's my little lover boy!

He's doing raspberries in this one.
Showing mommy his food, he thought he was being hilarious. he was busting up

Never ending vomit

I feel like I haven't posted anything in ages. We have been having a pretty crummy week here. It all started when I asked to come home from work a little early on Wed. I wasn't feeling great and I wanted to get some sleep so I got home at 3:30 and went straight to bed. I was awoken at 5:00 by Dave, screaming for me at the top of his lungs. Of course I ran to see what was wrong, only to find him in Sierra's room trying to catch her vomit in a blanket. So since Sierra was sick, I didn't get to be. I can't lay around in bed when she can't even keep water down. Needless to say we were up all night with Sierra throwing up. I had called into work on Wed. and told them I couldn't come in on Thur., but on Thur. morning Sierra seemed fine, and they really needed me, so I headed to work. And what should happen, Reece throws up in the car on the way there. I had to stay at work for a bit, but they sent me home at 9:30 so we had a day of relaxing and making sure we all felt better. Guess what happened Friday night, Dave starts puking. I AM SO DONE WITH VOMIT!
So that's the craziness that's been going on these past few days and can I just say that every home should be required to have a washer and dryer, especially when there's kids involved. I can't stand having to run back and forth to the laundry room when my kids are sick.

Sickening

This makes me absolutely sick. You have to be a complete monster to be able to do something like this.

Stealing

My best friend, Shannon's, sister Erin came over today to hang out with us. She's going to be moving to Texas to live with Shannon in a few months. I remember when Shannon and I were in High School and Erin drove us crazy always wanting to hang out with us because we were older, but now she's really sweet and fun to hang out with. Sierra really loves to play with her. I think I'll try to convince her to stay in town instead of moving to Texas, sorry Shannon:)

TROUBLE

I had to take Reece to the doctor's office today so Sierra was home with David for about 2 hours. When I got home he told me she had gotten into my make-up and drawn all up and down her arms with my eyeliner. She has only just started getting into things. I never had to worry before about supervising her because she never got into anything she wasn't supposed to. Even if she woke up in the morning before I did she would just come out and sit down on the couch or play with her toys until Dave or I got up. It is really hard adapting to a child who has always been so good and then all of the sudden decides to cause trouble left and right. Yesterday she smeared applesauce all over the dining room, a few days ago she woke up really early and was playing in the cold, dirty water that had sat overnight in the sink, and now this. I guess it was too good to be true. The demon is finally emerging.

LOVEY

I think I'm getting a head cold or something. My nose is all stuffy and I have tons of sinus pressure. I went to give David a hug earlier, really just so he would hold me and realize how pathetic and sick I am and take pity on me, and Sierra came over and wrapped her arms around his leg. It was so sweet. When I decided to let go she did too and I asked her why she was hugging daddy. She said it was fun to hug daddy. Then I asked her if she wanted to hug me too. She, matter of factly, responded NO. It was so cute that I couldn't let it hurt my feelings, and I had to run over to the computer and post about it.

Words

Sierra has been doing the most adorable thing today. All of the sudden, she thinks everything is wonderful. It is so cute. Mommy is wonderful, the library was wonderful, even the drive through window at Zips was wonderful. Today was the first day I'd ever heard her use this word and she's probably said it 10 times since I got home from work at 5:00. I like how she can be so enthusiastic about the mundane things in life.

Poor baby

So my sweet little boy has a terrible blister on his right thigh. When Sierra was first getting her rash she never had any blisters, and to this day she has only ever had 2, both in the same place on her left cheek, just under her eye. Reece's seems so big and I know it hurts him because I'll catch him scratching all around it and have to stop him because I don't want him to tear it open and end up with a huge open wound on his leg. I feel so bad for him and I can't wait for him to be through this stage of the rash. Sierra's rash is so mild now, even though it covers most of her body it's not as red as it used to be, and atleast hers doesn't hurt.

Look what I can do!

Last night I had a crazy itch to make some homemade bread. And I mean real homemade bread: stirring, kneading, rising, punching down, rising again and baking, none of this pour your ingredients into the bread maker and out pops a perfect loaf of bread in an hour. When I took it out of the oven it looked so pretty I had to take a picture, my very first ever homemade bread. I did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself. And it tastes really good too, we've already finished one loaf.

Mmmmmm doesn't that look good?

Awe struck

We had some pretty heavy rain storms a few days ago, with some thunder and lightning. David and I always get excited over extreme weather, so we opened one of the windows so we could watch and, of course, Sierra had to join in. It was raining so hard at one point that we were getting pretty wet through the window, which only made it more fun for Sierra.

Pile

So last week I got a rose plant from one of the moms at work. I brought it home and it's been sitting on the table in the dining room ever since. So this morning while I was sitting with Reece watching saturday morning cartoons I hear Sierra calling for me. She's saying "mommy, look at my pile." She was really proud of herself about pulling most of the petals of of my rose plant and putting them into a little pile.
