Blue

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but we've been really busy around here. It was wonderful having my little sister Morgan here for a visit. We got together a few times and had a lot of fun. Of course we were all sad that she couldn't bring her boys with, but I think it was probably a nice vacation for her, plus they're supposed to be moving back next summer so that'll be awesome. It's hard having family living so far away. I went and saw Mama Mia on Friday night with Melanie, Morgan, and Meghan and it was so fun. I love musicals, there's just something about people randomly breaking into song that makes me smile. David and i celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this weekend too. We saw the new Batman movie and went out to lunch, nothing fancy, but it was a good time, and the movie was great too.

I got a new work shirt, in a deep royal blue, and Reece kept pointing at it and saying something that I couldn't understand, I finally figured out that he was saying blue, just really strangely. We had him saying it so many times that he got pretty tired of it, but he was busting us up. I got a little bit of it on video.

Curly

There was a little girl,
who had a little curl,
right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
she was really, really good
but when she was bad she was horrid.

I did Sierra's hair curly the other day and when we got to daycare I noticed she had one little curl hanging down in the middle of her forehead and this poem jumped into my mind. It fits her so perfectly. I had to run and grab the camera and take some pictures so i could post about it, though it is kinda hard to see the curl, it wasn't very long.

Everyone loves a blue-eyed girl.
This is the face she makes when she's trying not to smile, you can see how hard she's concentrating.
And this is what it turns into 2 seconds later.
I just had to add in this silly face of bubba's, it kinda reminds me of a turtle.

Weird

This is the second night in a row that Sierra has asked to go to bed. What a strange turn of events, will it continue? Stay Tuned...

New Addition

Well Dave's been hounding me for a few years about getting a new mattress. We've been sleeping on a hand-me-down from his parents for the last few years, which is nice, but broken. One of the box springs is broken ad the bed dips down where we sleep, it does no good to flip the mattress at all. I kept telling him we'd get a new mattress eventually, but i just couldn't see spending all that money just for a bed when we already had one that at least did the job. He finally talked me into it and he went to get it on Wednesday, his friend Noel helped him pick it up in his truck and we gave him our old mattress. All I can say is i never really realized how much difference a good mattress makes to sleep. I have slept so comfortably the last few nights. He's actually complained that it's not as comfy as he thought it would be and is a little bit disappointed, but I think it's awesome and he's just being too picky.

Sissy had to climb on top, this is out old mattress and box springs with the new mattress on top, in the living room waiting to go to their designated places.
Reece had to go up once he saw Sissy.
All set up, waiting for clean sheets.
Close up on the label.

Sales

I got off work really early today so I decided to take the kids shopping. I told Sierra we could play at the big toys in the mall if she was really good, that won her over instantly. Of course, we headed to Old Navy first, they had some awesome sales on some of their summer clothes that I couldn't pass by. I even got a few thing for a couple bucks a piece, AWESOME. Next we went to Children's Place, I 'm so glad I went there. I really love putting Reece in one-piece short outfits this summer, they're so easy and cute, and they had tons on sale for $2.50, I got like 6. And I got a pair of their thin stretchy jammies for 3 dollars, I love the way those jammies fit my babies, they hug onto every little roll(or lack there of). After shopping the trip went downhill. Not 2 minutes after we got to the big toys Sierra tinkled in her panties, and I didn't have anything with me to change her into so we had to come home. I don't know what is going on with that little girl sometimes. She has accidents all the time. She was completely potty trained from about last September through January, even at night, then she started wetting the bed and a few months after that she started having daytime accidents. It gets me crazy sometimes. I don't know if she does it for the attention, but if is it's all negative attention and she gets a lot of positive attention already, so I don't know how to fix it. Hopefully she'll decide to grow out of this one really quick.

PlayDoh

The kids and I played playdoh the other day, it was a lot of fun. Reece really liked just poking his fingers into it and Sierra loved using the scissors. I actually gave Reece a Popsicle stick to poke it with and, of course, Sierra wasn't happy until she'd tricked him into trading with her so she could have it. It seems like whatever Reece has, she wants. Hopefully she'll grow out of that because it really makes me crazy and now that Reece is getting older he's not as willing to comply to her. Here's some pics...

Reece Update

Okay, I guess I should let everyone know about Reece's surgery. It was nothing major, which is why I didn't post anything about it. Reece has had a hard time with peeing for the last few months, he would get this flap of skin that would completely block his meatis and he wouldn't be able to pee at all. When we saw the urologist about it she said he needed to have the skin stitched back to give him a wider stream. The whole process only took about 30 min, but he did have to be knocked out for it. He did a great job, the hardest part for him was not being able to eat anything before the procedure. He could only have apple juice when he woke up Thursday morning and couldn't have anything after 8am. He didn't even go back for surgery until 12 so that was tough, but he was a trooper and let us distract him with toys and wagon rides.
He got his finger smashed the same day when we went to pick up Sierra from the grandpa and grandma's house. He tried to follow Daddy through their swinging door and it came back over the top of his fingers. It didn't look like anything was wrong, but the next morning it was purple under the nail and now it's going white under the nail and I'm almost sure he's going to lose it, that'll look a little funky.

Popsicles

With the weather getting warmer, the kids have been ahving popsicles more often. I got some pictures of Reece eating his the other day because he makes the cutes faces. He sucks on his popsicle than sucks on his lips and tongue, it looks really funny. You can even see his finger that got smashed, it's all purple under the fingernail (I think he might lose it), and some of the tape that's still stuck to his tummy from his surgery last week.

Finally Captured

I did it finally!! I got video of Reece walking on our digital camera so I could post it for everyone to see. He doesn't walk a lot, really only when he's prompted, but he's capable of it and he's getting pretty good. Here's my favorite one, I'll probably post the other one later.

I love when he falls down, it looks so silly, and his sideways bearwalk, sooooo cute!!! That sweet little wave just melts my heart.

As I'm typing this I have Reece in my arms, he's laying chest to chest with me with his head on my shoulder, every 15 seconds or so he says, " asjha shy"(other side) and switches to my other shoulder, it's so sweet, though it makes my typing take a bit longer.

Catching Up

Well, I have a lot of catching up to do. It's been really hard for me to post lately, I just really haven't felt like sitting down and doing it. This will probably be a pretty long post (just a warning)

Sierra's birthday was on the 2nd so Dave and I both took the day off. We went to Denny's for breakfast and let her order whatever she wanted (with a little guidance from mom). She got waffle sticks and sausage with a side of grapes and chocolate milk in a rocket ship cup. I forgot to bring the camera so no pics of her birthday breakfast. She was pretty well behaved the rest of the day. She loves being the center of attention. I spent the rest of the afternoon decorating cupcakes and our kitchen, I had to re tape the streamers and balloons about a thousand times because they kept falling down, but it looked really nice while everything was up.

There are clusters of balloons at the end of each group of streamers too.

The cupcakes didn't turn out exactly how I had pictured in my mind, but they were pretty cute.

Here are some pictures of the birthday girl.

I'm 4

The light up birthday crown.

Messy cupcake face, she snuck the sucker.
We had a great turn out of family and friends, I was too busy running around to get any pictures, but thanks to everyone who came and made Sissy's party a success.

We went to Silverwood for the 4th of July. I was really nervous about taking the kids, but it actually went really well. We had kinda crummy weather for the first couple of hours, but it warmed up in the early afternoon and was wonderful after that. Dave and I went on the Panic Plunge together, it was soooo fun. For those who don't know you basically go straight up atleast 10 stories and then the drop you, I'd say you free fall for about 3 seconds or something. I even convinced my sweet little 7 year old niece, Hannah, to go on it with me. I was a ,ot more scared that time around because I could tell Hannah was terrified. She kept saying, "I'm not gonna die, I'm not gonna die." over and over again so I was trying to reassure her that it was almost over. Once we were on the ground again she said it was fun, but when you're way up there it's a bit intense. Over all we had a blast at Silverwood, but their fireworks display wasn't nearly as good as the show in Riverfront Park.

Sierra loved the helicopter ride, she wasn't even scared that we couldn't go with her.

That's Sissy curled up in the backseat sound asleep.

Trying to syke Hannah up before we take the Plunge. After Sissy got over her initial fears she liked the fireworks a lot.
He kept blinking his eyes from the flash so this is the best picture I could get of Reece watching the fireworks. He loved them, he was clapping the whole time it was so sweet.
